Preparing for Xmas with all the family ... then London for sister's 25th wedding anniversary ... the Birmingham for New Year with Pat's mum ... I think I'll need a holiday after this coming week!

But there won't be time for a holiday as it's back to work for my final 3 months paid work as a onsultant. But I cannot stop writng musis all the time. The sounds wake me up and the only way I can dispel them is by getting it notated. I am only sleeping 5 hours a night now, so generally have time to compose plenty before breakfast.

HAWAII

Vancouver's Chinatown displays unusual colours and buildings. The Sun Yat Sen Chinese Garden contained this beautiful silkscreen: amazing craft!

After Vancouver, we spent 2 weeks in the Hawaiian island of Maui. This is the garden outside the apartment we rented.

Flowers and trees abound on this volcanic island

We drove to where the last lava flow ran into the ocean. Very rough underfoot!

The other side of Maui contains a beautiful arboretum

In the town of Lahaina, the 3rd biggest Banyan tree in the world dominates the centre

Of course we could not leave without going to a traditional Luau
